CONCEPT:

Buy and sell weapons/treasures and then use the coins to gamble for more treasures!

WHAT WENT WRONG:

What started out as a stock market simulation game is side tracked into a casino game instead.  The stock market simulation turns out to be more difficult than I expected, and will require me to learn a bit more about azure plus subscribing to some of their services.  So with the free time I have, I made a casino game instead.

WHAT WENT RIGHT:

Part of this week's learning goal is to learn how to use more of playfab's functionalities, including making online accounts for games and having an economy inside the game.  This will help me explore monetization for mobile games which will be needed if I were to publish a mobile game later on.

WHAT I LEARNED:

I learned how to buy, sell, and create players' account through playfab.  Along with that, I get more practice with Unity's UI, which a developer friend of mine noted taking up most of his developing time.   Technically, I was also able to explore ways to make Playfab more efficient, such as creating C# interfaces that allow for any class to call a global refresh (to update all individual economy resources).  This reminded me of what made me like coding so much, the ability to abstract things away and reduce complexity is a callback to my previous experiment with neural networks.

WHAT I PLAN TO LEARN NEXT WEEK:

For this week, I realized that making UI particle effects is much harder than I thought.  Alongside that, I also want to learn about animations, particularly exploring Inverse Kinematics through FinalIK.  Both of these are possible direction.  A possible game I can make is where user take the role of a cat that tries to knock over as many things around the house as possible.

As an RPG fan I love the sword, bow, chest combination. I was able to set up an account and log in with no problems.

It took me a bit of time to figure out what to do right away and what the options were but I can see how the stock market portion was supposed to tie in.

The UI was smooth and background music was catching and put me in a good mood to play some more. I didn't understand what each item's value was right away.

Overall it was really fun and I could see this implemented as a side game in an RPG.

This is a fun game! I wish the stock prices would randomize every once in a while to create some push and pull between playing the slot and swapping stocks.

It's great that everything is synced on PlayFab, I could see why slot games are so popular on mobile
